
Ian is a former Royal Netherlands Air Force officer with 25+ years experience in fighter operations, sustainment and compliance. A distinguished graduate in pilot training and top graduate of the RNLAF Weapon School, Ian had the honor of serving in multiple F-16 deployments to Afghanistan.
In 2012, Ian was selected as one of the first four RNLAF F-35 pilots, tasked to execute F-35 operational test together with partners from the U.S. Services, UK and Australia. Ian commanded both the test squadron at Edwards AFB and the first operational F-35 squadron at Leeuwarden Air Base. During that time Ian was responsible for RNLAF Ops & Mx integration, trial execution, aircraft modification planning, maintenance training, EMAR compliance and preparing the F-35 transition in The Netherlands
Ian, as owner of Knight Shift, is currently occupied as CEO to ILIAS Federal Solutions Inc and responsible for global Lockheed Martin platform business development, integrating specific F-35 software requirements and lead SME for F-35 ALIS and ILIAS integration.
Ian has a bachelors degree in applied physics from the Delft University of Technology, a Master’s degrees in Military Operational Art & Science from USAF Air University and completed executive training in logistics at MIT.
